
Jim Woods, PGA
Jim grew up in Endicott, New York and lived with his family on the famed En-Joie Golf Course, a regular stop on the PGA tour and home of the BC Open and now the Dick’s Sporting Good Open. Jim was introduced to the game at an early age by his father and excelled at junior golf. After graduating from college Jim turned professional in 1992 and obtained membership into the PGA in 1998. He was an assistant and later Head Professional of the Heritage Country Club in Johnson City, New York from 1996 to 2003. While in that position, Jim twice qualified and played in the PGA tour event at The BC Open in his hometown of Endicott. Playing inside the ropes on the PGA tour was one of his crowning achievements and an experience he will always remember. He was also voted Best Golf Professional in the Southern Tier of New York State in 1998 & 1999.
In 2004, Jim took his talents to central New Jersey where he was a teaching professional and tournament director at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, New Jersey. In 2008 he was named Director of Golf, a position he held for 2 years before founding and becoming the owner of the Woods Golf School. Jim has directed thousands of students through his school and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience both in golf and business.
in 2013 Jim was the Head Golf Professional at the Putnam County Golf Course in Mahopac, New York's Hudson River Valley where he was in charge of the daily golf operations and golfer development programs for all ages.
Jim is currently the Director of Golf at the Omni Bedford Springs Old Course in Bedford Pennsylvania where he manages and teaches year round. The Old Course has been rated as one of the top 100 resort courses in the country by Golf Week and Golf Digest and number one in Pennsylvania by Golf Advisor through Golf Now.
Jim also owns and operates the High Performance Custom Golf repair and fitting center using same equipment used in the PGA tour repair vans.
